ENERGIDRICA is an R&D project financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. It involves the provision of a Decision Support System for the energy management of water transmission and distribution networks.
The main objective of the project concerns the reduction of energy consumption and the associated CO2 emissions, as well as the integration with renewable energy sources with a view to the smart grids.
Benefits of the project include:
a) Optimal allocation of water supply from multiple sources;
b) Support for optimal management of pumping facilities for transmission and distribution networks; and
c) Integration with renewable energy sources.
