Re-Water is an international cooperation project funded by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy program, concerning the introduction of sustainable technologies for wastewater management and reduction of marine pollution in Apulian and Greek areas.
The innovative plant built by AQP aims to remove emerging pollutants (drugs, etc.) which are not weeded out with conventional treatment processes. Re-Water has been identified as a “Lighthouse Project” by the Italian Agency for European Territorial Cohesion of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The recognition of Lighthouse Projects is given to projects that have significantly distinguished for the results achieved and have produced effective, measurable and lasting changes in the territories involved.
The innovative treatment implemented at the Gallipoli sewage treatment plant has also received Official Patent Attestation No. 102021000028856 for industrial invention granted by the Italian Patent and Trademark Office of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. The owner of the patent is AQP.
